Hi there
Well its Friday yet again and this is the day that Warwickshire Association for the Blind take my Dad to bowls! Yes that's right, my Dad who is in his eighties and lives with me has both significant eyesight problems as well as dementia and yet with the great help from the wonderful folks at WAB he is able to meet up with pals and play some bowls. In Winter they go indoors to play but in this brilliant Summer weather he will be outdoors enjoying the sun and fresh air too. This time away also allows me to relax and to plan to do some well needed jobs at home to make the house fresh and spick and span once more. It is also a chance to enjoy a walk and a coffee with my beautiful dog. My favourite place these days for my morning coffee is the delightful Rose and Crown in Warwick. Susie the owner and all the staff especially Katie, Emma, Flick and Craig are regulars who I see quite a lot and have forged good relations with. In fact Katie is very insightful and always lends an empathetic ear when I have troubles from my Caring role. Always good to share with kind, cheerful and caring people and they sure are. I have a day without clients today. Normally I am treating clients at my busy practice in Leamington Spa. I own and manage Hypnotherapy Warwickshire and also Douglas Clark Hypnosis where we provide customised, professional Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to private clients. I love my work and get a great deal of satisfaction in helping and assisting people to achieve their personal best and be free from problems. Combining my Care role with my professional work is rewarding but also very challenging. That is the reason I set up Therapy for Carers as a means to help and assist other Carers with my professional therapy skills at very affordable rates. It is my way of helping within the society and community in which I live and I am passionate about that. I really want to create a great resource for Carers in Warwickshire where Carers whether voluntary or paid can access methods to allow them to manage their stress, offload worries and learn new ways of thinking, feeling and acting to help them to not only survive but hopefully maybe to thrive in their caring capacity. Carers give so much and help so much. Often it is a role that is dictated by nature. In other words they did not choose to be a Carer and many are not even aware that is what they are doing. They just get on and do it. I am always amazed and how hard working, decent and kind many Carers are. I also realise their frustrations, the emotions that can build up into stress and the daily grind of it all. After all I have been doing it for ten years now too. Please lets see how we as Carers can all work together to support and help each other in Warwickshire Carers like you and like me need all the help and support we can muster. It would be my genuine wish that if you have some time you get on board and you help me to get Therapy for Carers off the ground, up and running and get it promoted, get it known and get in touch. If you know a Carer that needs stress management, that could benefit from very high quality Hypnotherapy and NLP at affordable rates. Less that half my normal professional rates then please tell them to call me on 0779 258 4470. I will go out of my way to help. Well that's about it for now. One thing that is very humbling is to see the work of young Carers. Young people coping with enormous challenges in caring for others. Lets celebrate and reward them too: Please have a very good look at Young Carers: www.youngcarers.net
